Extensive consultation has occurred for the redevelopment of Lismore Base Hospital. This has involved community members, Lismore City Council, State Government agencies, visiting medical experts and the Northern NSW Local Health District's own staff.
Consultation has taken the form of direct discussions, group presentations and public forums. Public information has also been made available through the local media and on the Lismore Base Hospital redevelopment website.
Ongoing consultation has been essential in planning and designing the hospital redevelopment, as well as throughout the construction phase.
A summary of key consultation activities is outlined below:
meetings and discussions with Local Health District staff
information forums for staff and community members
presentations to local Aboriginal community members
regular catch-ups with local residents and business owners who live or work in neighbouring streets
discussions with Lismore City Council, the University of Sydney (University Centre of Rural Health), government agencies and local MPs
